WHAT’S YOUR STYLE?

 

I'd say my style is best described as candid, modern, and artistic! My images reflect my passion for clean composition, beautiful light, and capturing your natural beauty! I'll be there to capture every moment, yet I hope you barely notice me. It's all about striking the right balance - knowing when to hang back and capture candid moments as they unfold, and when to step in and seize those magical opportunities with light and the surroundings.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK YOU FOR OUR WEDDING?

​

 My calendar tends to fill up quickly, so it's advisable to book approximately 18 months in advance. However, if you're planning within a shorter timeframe, don't hesitate to reach out via email to check my availability!

HAVE YOU SHOT AT OUR LOCATION BEFORE?

 

If you're planning a wedding in Scotland, there's a good chance I've worked at your venue in the past decade. However, I also relish the opportunity to shoot at new locations - seeing a venue with fresh eyes can bring a unique perspective to the photos. As I frequently travel for weddings, I'm confident I can do an excellent job capturing your venue, even if it's unfamiliar to me. I'm more than happy to accompany you for a visit before the wedding day, or if your wedding is out of town, I'll arrive early to scout the location and identify the best spots for photos!

DO YOU SHOOT (LARGE / SMALL / INDIAN / JEWISH / CHRISTIAN / GAY / NON-RELIGIOUS) WEDDINGS?

Yes, of course! It would be my pleasure to document your celebration of any faith, non-faith, or orientation. Over the years, I've had the privilege of capturing a wide variety of weddings, each one unique and special in its own way.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SEE MY PHOTOS?

​

Engagement photos will be available for online viewing approximately two weeks after the shoot. Weddings normally take up to 10 weeks.

I DON’T PHOTOGRAPH WELL AND AM SUPER AWKWARD - CAN YOU HELP ME?

​

Yes, of course! I understand that you might not have experience being photographed and I'm here to help. Through my easy shooting style and natural posing, I make sure that you look natural and lovely in your photos. Some people take a little longer to warm up, and in those cases I make sure that you feel comfortable and relaxed while we are shooting. I promise, I will make it painless and fun. You'll be surprised how easy and enjoyable it can be!

WHAT ALBUMS/BOOKS DO YOU HAVE AVAILABLE?

​

I have a lovely selection of Coffee Table books and albums, in a superb range of covers, colours, and styles with optional embossing, photo inlays or matts. The books are available in hardback or soft bound with picture wraps.

DOES KAROL MAKULA PHOTOGRAPHY HAVE INSURANCE?

​

Yes, I have very comprehensive insurance which covers all my equipment, liability and professional indemnity - you can request to see confirmation of this at any time after your booking.

WHAT ARE YOUR TRAVEL FEES?

​​

If your wedding is more than 80 miles from Edinburgh, a small travel fee applies, currently 30p per mile. For weddings abroad, please contact me directly to discuss the details.

DO I NEED TO FEED MY PHOTOGRAPHER?

​

A warm meal on the day is always appreciated! Many venues offer supplier meals and some couples prefer to set a meal allowance instead.

YOU’RE THE PHOTOGRAPHER FOR US! HOW DO WE RESERVE OUR WEDDING DATE?

​

Great! The next step is to EMAIL ME to let me know your date so I can check my availability.

Once we select the best package for you, I will send you a contract to sign and instructions on how to pay the retainer (£400 for a full day coverage, £200 shorter coverage). Your date is officially reserved once both the retainer and signed contract are received.
